Classic Car Restoration, Done Right

Classic and vintage car body restoration in Hamilton, Ontario.

Every car has a different story, and every car has different needs.
Your restoration is customized to your car, your goals and your budget.

Classic car restoration is repairing a vintage vehicle's paint, body and metal to bring back its look and protect it for years to come. At Harbour Collision in Hamilton, we focus on the exterior work classic cars need most: repainting, rust removal and dent repair, along with collision and structural repairs.

We offer two approaches. A full restoration brings your classic as close to perfect as it can get. A budget-friendly refresh costs significantly less and still makes your car look great, without going as far as a full restoration. We inspect your car, explain your options in plain language, and recommend the work that fits.

  • Full paint jobs and custom paint

  • Spot painting of damaged areas only

  • Wipe-on clear coat to brighten faded paint

  • Sanding and polishing instead of a repaint

  • Rust removal and metal repair

  • Dent repair and bodywork

  • Collision and structural repairs

"Someone carved up my door and I brought my car to Harbour Collision, they did an amazing job getting all the scratches out and repainting it!! They also had to replace my mirror. They are very friendly there and I am very pleased with all their help.
I will definitely go back there.
Thanks alot!"

Classic Car Restoration FAQ

How much does classic car restoration cost in Hamilton?

It depends on your car's condition and how far you want to take it. A full restoration is our most complete and most involved option. A budget-friendly refresh costs significantly less and still makes your car look great. We inspect your car and give you a clear estimate before any work begins.

Do I have to repaint my whole classic car?

No. If only part of the car needs attention, we can paint just the damaged areas, brighten faded paint with a wipe-on clear coat, or sand and polish the existing finish. These options cost much less than a full repaint and can still make a big difference in how your car looks.

What is the most common classic car restoration work?

Repainting, rust removal and dent repair make up most of the classic car work we do. We also handle collision repairs and structural issues, which are common on older vehicles. Every car has a different story, so we inspect it first and recommend the work that matters most.

Do you repair rust on classic cars?

Yes. Rust removal is one of our specialties. We cut out rusted metal and repair or replace the panels, including floors, rockers, quarter panels and wheel wells, rather than covering rust with filler. Proper metal repair stops rust from coming back through the new paint.

Do you fix collision damage on classic cars?

Yes. Classic cars get into accidents too. We repair dents, damaged panels and structural issues on older vehicles, then match and refinish the paint so the repair blends with the rest of the car.

Do you restore classic car interiors or upholstery?

No. Harbour Collision focuses on the exterior: paint, rust, dents, bodywork and collision repairs. For seats, carpet or headliners, you'll need an upholstery specialist.

How do I get an estimate for my classic car?

Send photos through our digital estimate form, call (905) 522-6425, or bring the car to one of our two Hamilton locations. Include the year, make and model, close-ups of any rust or damage, and whether you want a full restoration or a budget refresh.
